Before we dive into poses, let's talk about why yoga's so awesome. I started yoga myself a few years ago, and I was amazed by the difference. It's not just about stretching!

- Strength and balance: Yoga builds strength you might not expect.
- Stress relief: Yoga really helps calm you down.
- Heart health: It's good for your heart too!
- Sleep better: I sleep like a baby now!

It’s all about the poses (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and meditation. Finding the right type of yoga is important. Lots of studios offer beginner classes.
Your First Yoga Steps

1. Mountain Pose (Tadasana)

4. Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II)
This one builds strength and balance. Step one leg back, bending your front knee. Keep your front knee over your ankle. Extend your arms. Look over your front hand.
5. Tree Pose (Vrksasana)
A balancing pose that helps with focus. Stand on one leg. Place the sole of your other foot on your inner thigh or calf (not your knee!). Hands at heart level or raised above your head.
6. Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)
Stretches your hamstrings, hips, and groin. Feet wide apart, one foot turned out 90 degrees. Bend forward, reaching for your ankle or shin.
7. Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana)
A gentle backbend. Lie on your stomach, hands under your shoulders. Push up, keeping your shoulders relaxed.
8. Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana)
Stretches your hamstrings, hips, and spine. Sit with legs extended. Inhale, lengthen your spine. Exhale and fold forward from the hips.
