Paper Bag Dinosaurs: Roar-some Fun for Kids!
Want a fun activity to keep the little ones busy? Making paper bag dinosaurs is super easy and a blast! It's perfect for rainy days, school projects, or just because. Plus, it helps kids get creative and improves their fine motor skills. My kids loved it!
Why Paper Bag Dinosaurs?
They're simple, yet awesome! You probably already have everything you need. It's cheap, and kids can make any kind of dinosaur – T-Rex, Triceratops, even a super-fast Velociraptor! And the finished dino makes a great decoration, too.
What You'll Need:
- Brown paper bags (lunch-sized or bigger)
- Construction paper (lots of colors!)
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- Markers or crayons
- Googly eyes (optional, but fun!)
- Other stuff (optional): feathers, glitter – get creative!
Let's Make a Dinosaur!
Step 1: Get Ready
Pick your paper bag. A taller bag makes a taller dino; a wider one makes a chubbier one. You might need to cut a big bag down to size.
Step 2: The Body
Fold the top of the bag down a couple of inches. This is the head and neck. Tape or glue it to hold. Try different folds for different neck lengths!
Step 3: Legs
Cut out four leg shapes from construction paper. A T-Rex needs thick legs, a Stegosaurus needs different ones. Glue or tape them to the bottom of the bag.
Step 4: The Tail
Cut a long, skinny tail. Make it long or short! Glue it on the back. Add details with markers to make it look real!
Step 5: The Face
This is the best part! Use construction paper, markers, and googly eyes to make a face. Cut out triangles for teeth, or just draw them. Add eyebrows and a nose.
Step 6: Finishing Touches
Add horns, spikes, or plates – whatever your dino needs! Glitter, feathers, or pipe cleaners make it extra special!
Step 7: Show Off Your Dino!
Your dino is done! Let your child show it off. It'll look great in their room, or even at school.
Tips & Ideas:
- Dino Species: Look up different dinosaurs and make one that matches. It's like a science project!
- Mix it Up! Use yarn, buttons, fabric – anything you have!
- Family Fun! Make it a family project. It's even more fun together.
- Tell a Story! Make up stories about your awesome dinosaur.
- Go Green! Use recycled bags to be eco-friendly.
More Dino Fun!
Once you've made one, try these:
- Dino Habitat: Build a home for your dino using boxes and paint.
- Egg Hunt: Hide plastic eggs and have a dinosaur egg hunt.
- Dino Party: Throw a dinosaur party – make more dinos!
- Learn More! Read books and watch videos about dinosaurs.
Making paper bag dinosaurs is super fun for kids of all ages. It's cheap, easy, and lets kids be creative. So grab your supplies and have a roaring good time!
