How to Make a Pom-Pom Pillow

Make a Fluffy Pom-Pom Pillow!

Want to add some personality to your home? It's easier than you think! I'm going to show you how to make a super cute pom-pom pillow. This project is perfect for anyone, even if you've never sewn before. Get ready for some fun!

What You'll Need:

Pillow Form: Grab one, any size you like. 18x18 inches or 20x20 inches are common.
Fabric: Choose a fabric you love! Cotton, linen, felt – even faux fur works great. Think about the color and texture you want.
Yarn: Pick your favorite yarn colors. The amount depends on how many pom-poms you want to make.
Scissors: Sharp ones are important for neat cuts.
Sewing Machine or Needle and Thread: A sewing machine speeds things up, but hand-sewing is totally fine too.
Pins: To hold the fabric in place while you sew.
Measuring Tape: To make sure everything's the right size.
Cardboard: For making the pom-poms. Different sizes make different sized pom-poms!
(Optional) Fabric glue, buttons, or other fun decorations.

Let's Make Some Pom-Poms!

Cut Cardboard: Cut out two circles from cardboard. The bigger the circle, the bigger the pom-pom.
Wrap the Yarn: Wrap yarn around those circles lots of times. The more you wrap, the fluffier the pom-pom! Secure the end.
Cut the Loops: Carefully cut the yarn loops between the cardboard circles.
Tie it Up: Tie a piece of yarn tightly around the center. Then, remove the cardboard.
Trim and Fluff: Trim it to make it nice and round, then fluff it up! Repeat until you have enough pom-poms.

Sew the Pillow Cover:

Cut the Fabric: Measure your pillow form, add about ½ inch extra for seams. Cut two identical rectangles.
Pin and Sew: Put the fabric pieces together, right sides facing. Pin the edges, leaving a gap (4-6 inches) on one side. Sew the three sides.
Turn it Right Side Out: Turn the cover right side out through the gap.
Attach the Pom-Poms: Sew or glue the pom-poms onto the pillow cover. Arrange them however you like!
Close the Gap: Sew the gap closed. You can even use a pretty stitch!

Stuff and Enjoy!

Finally, put the pillow form inside. Fluff those pom-poms and admire your handiwork!
